ABOUT THE LUOL DENG FOUNDATION

Luol Deng is on a mission to help change the lives of people in South Sudan and he needs your help.

South Sudan, a country in north-eastern Africa, is one of the poorest, most remote and neglected places in the world. Civil war has forced millions of people from their homes. Families typically survive on less than $1 a day struggling to feed their families and send their children to school. Luol as a child refugee himself, understands the difficulties these individuals face. 



Women like Colline and Halima are proud and hard working; they don’t want hand-outs, but with no employment or money to start a business they have little opportunity. Luol Deng, in partnership with the charity Deki, is supporting women like Lucy and Halima by providing them with small loans. The women will gradually repay their loans as they build their businesses. As the money is returned it will then be re-lent to others in need - benefitting 1000’s of families and communities over time
